The Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné was created in 1834 through the magical conjunction of a fertile land on a hillside by the Rhone and a family with a passion for winemaking.
Famed through the Hermitage La Chapelle, over the years the Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné took ownership of the finest appellations of the northern Rhone Valley, applying organic and biodynamic principles since taken over by the Frey family, ensuring a legacy in both vineyards and incredible wines.
This ‘Vin de France‘ is a blend from the Rhone Valley and the Languedoc Region. This offers and incredibly varied selection of terroirs, soils and landscape to unravel in this great value Syrah.
Grape Variety – 100% Syrah.
Age of the Vines – 20 years
Soils – From clay and limestone, the area is very sunny and ideal cool nights, source of complexity and balance for the wine.
Vinification – The Syrah grapes are picked at night in order to preserve all their aromatic qualities. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks with daily pumping over.
Ageing – in stainless steel tanks for 6 months
Marked by a deep ruby color, the nose reveals a powerful black fruits and blackberries aromas as well as notes of liquorice. A delicate spice note makes the nose complex and noble. On the palate, the attack is smooth and expresses aromas of black fruits and spices.
