Description
The Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné was created in 1834 through the magical conjunction of a fertile land on a hillside by the Rhone and a family with a passion for winemaking.
Famed through the Hermitage La Chapelle, over the years the Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné took ownership of the finest appellations of the northern Rhone Valley, applying organic and biodynamic principles since taken over by the Frey family, ensuring a legacy in both vineyards and incredible wines.
This cuvee has been made from a very drastic selection between the Mediterranean sea and the foothills of the French Alps and the Massif Central area. In these spots, Viognier grape is very expressive in a fresh, balanced and charming style.
Soil: This wine comes from areas which are very sunny during the day but relatively fresh at night. This thermal alternation helps a lot to get a very good aromatic complexity. On the top of that phenomenon, the difference of elevation between the sea and the foothills regulate the maturation of the grapes. The soil type is mainly calcareous and slightly clayey.
Grape Variety: 100% Viognier.
Age of the Vines: 20 years
Vinification: The Viognier is hand-picked and directly whole-bunch pressed. The must is fermented at low temperature to keep varietal aromas, in thermo-regulated stainless steel tank Ageing Stainless steal tank for 6 months on fine lees.
Light yellow color with clear and brilliant green reflections, the very expressive nose of this grape variety is a blend of white fruits, peaches and flowers that make up all the charm of this beautiful grape variety. Its balance, both lively and round, makes the mouth smooth and pleasant. A fine and gourmet wine with a finish of a beautiful persistence on the fruit.
