Description
A Champagne selected by Rolf Muntz.
Rolf is a past winner on the European Tour for golfing professionals and years ago joined hands with a private ‘Maison de Champagne’ in the Premier Cru Champagne district of Reims & Epernay, France.
The history of this ‘Maison the Champagne’ starts in 1890 and the vineyard stretches over 5 hectares of rolling land.
Every year a ‘Cuvée Sélectionnée par Rolf Muntz’ – a limited amount of bottles of Millésime – is exclusively selected and reserved.
At the west side of the ‘Montagne de Reims’ grapes are grown with vines of an average 38 year old, enabling complexity.
This Premier Cru Champagne is made from the very first pressing of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, with 37% of the blend coming from reserve wines and a minimum ageing of 4 years on the lees.
While claimed as Brut, it is only dosed at 3g /L RS to express its purity.
Pinot Noir is quite subtle in this cuvée, letting the Chardonnay express its lovely meringue accent.
Candid and clear from the start, this Cuvée expresses Mango, pineapple, apricot
and nectarine on the taste bud, with a lively freshness.
A Champagne that will accompany you from aperitif to main course, from drive to finish.
