Description
The Champagne selected by Rolf Muntz.
Rolf is a past winner on the European Tour for golfing professionals and years ago joined hands with a private ‘Maison de Champagne’ in the Premier Cru Champagne district of Reims & Epernay, France.
The history of this ‘Maison the Champagne’ starts in 1890 and the vineyard stretches over 5 hectares of rolling land.
Every year a ‘Cuvée Sélectionnée par Rolf Muntz’ – a limited amount of bottles of Millésime – is exclusively selected and reserved.
At the west side of the ‘Montagne de Reims’ grapes are grown on the on average 38 year old vines according to the responsible ‘Viticulture Raisonnée’ programme.
This Premier Cru Champagne is made from the very first pressing of 100% Pinot Noir resulting in a pure Blanc de Noirs Cuvee, with 57% of the blend coming from Perpetuelle reserve and a minimum ageing of 15 months.
Opens up wisely with spices and purity. Lightly peaty aromas, with a hint of bay leaf, sage and tobacco leading to a mouthfeel of red fruits, salinity and density.
An expressive, structured, and elegant force of Pinot Noir. The red fruits and the black fruits make the pair, with myrtle and mulberry in the front. Saline and fleshy finish, to confirm the wines’ force and purity.
A gastronomic and connoisseur Champagne with a long drive.
