Today he vinifies 18 hectares spread over Condrieu, Côte Rôtie, Saint-Joseph and Cornas . A production of white and red Vins de Pays completes the range. Wine Enthusiast – 94 points (2017)

Sourced from Syrah grown on high-altitude granite slopes, this moderately full-bodied, silken wine offers scintillating black plum and cassis flavors edged by smoke, earth and iron. It’s a rich, satisfying wine that’s briskly balanced in acidity and framed by fine, penetrating tannins. Lovely already but should gain complexity through 2030.

James Suckling – 90 points

Still very youthful, this needs a moment in the glass for the violet and cherry aromas to emerge. Very juicy and easy to enjoy on the palate for a young Cornas, the tannins right in the background, but they earth this well-made example of the appellation. Drink or hold.

Wine Advocate – 92 points (2017)

Notes of charred beef and grilled plum mark the nose of Pichon’s 2017 Cornas Allegorie. It’s full-bodied, rich and textured—perhaps a bit oaky for some tastes—but well made, showing ample ripeness, concentration and length. Overall, it’s a solid effort.
